Safe & effective for all skin tones and skin types.
Also known as age spots or liver spots, solar lentigines are a harmless patches of darkened skin. They results from exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which causes local proliferation of melanocytes and accumulation of melanin within the skin cells. Solar lentigines are very common, especially in people over the age of 40 years. They tend to become more numerous with repeated sun exposure and with advancing age. These hyper-pigmented patches are sun-induced lesions that do not have a premalignant potential.
While age spots pose no health risks, we here at My Girl Souz in Calgary always want you to feel the most comfortable in your own skin as you possibly can. Our treatment is non-invasive and we can safely and effectively remove discoloration. Each sun spot treatment depends on the patient, their skin type (fair, olive, dark-skinned), and the severity of their condition.
